Small-scale farmers are the backbone of this thriving industry, making up 70% of producers and serving both domestic and international markets.

Tanzania has emerged as a formidable force in African avocado production, securing its position as the continent's third-largest producer after Kenya and South Africa. With an annual production of 190,000 tons, Tanzania continues to strengthen its presence in the global avocado market.
